The Committee’s role is to provide assurance about the organisation’s arrangements for managing risk, maintaining an effective control environment and reporting on financial and other performance and for the promotion and maintenance of high standards of conduct by its elected and co-opted members.

There is a requirement for the appointment of at least 3 Members from each of the Constituent Authorities of the Combined Authority.

The Members of the Committee taken as a whole should reflect, so far as reasonably practicable, the balance of political parties for the time being prevailing among the Members of the Constituent Authorities of the Combined Authority when taken together.
