Hackney Carriage/Private Hire Driver's Licence Referral - Mr R

The Committee considered a report that outlined the background to a referral relating to Mr R, the holder of a Private Hire Drivers licence.

As Mr R’s license had expired since the referral had been made, the Committee were asked to either agree to renew his licence or refuse to renew his licence.

The meeting was held via video conferencing technology and Mr R joined the meeting along with his representative.

The Licensing Officer presented the report to the Committee which included information on the reason for the referral and Mr R’s criminal and licensing record.  The Licensing Officer then answered questions from Members of the Committee and Mr R and his representative.

Mr R’s representative then addressed the Committee on his behalf and answered questions from Members.

Following a summing up, both parties left the meeting and the Committee considered the matter in private.

Resolved that Mr R’s Private Hire Licence be renewed.
