Nomination of Chair

Minutes:

Councillor John O’Shea was nominated Chair for the meeting.

Exclusion Resolution

The Committee will be requested to pass the following resolution:

 

Resolved that under Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended) and having applied a public interest test as defined in Part 2 of Schedule 12A of the Act, the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the following item of business on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraph 1 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A to the Act.

Minutes:

Resolved that the exclusion resolution be passed.

Private Hire Driver's Licence Disciplinary referral - Mr G

Minutes:

The Committee considered a report which outlined the background to a referral relating to the holder of a Private Hire Drivers Licence, Mr G. 

 

The matter had been considered by Committee at its meeting on the 29 November 2019 where it concluded that further information was required in order for it to make a decision.

 

An officer provided the requested information to enable the Committee to assess Mr G’s continued suitability to carry out the duties of a licensed driver.

 

Mr G attended the meeting, along with his representative, Mr W.

 

After giving all information consideration the Committee decided that no further action was necessary and that it considered Mr G a fit and proper person to carry out the duties of a licensed driver.

 

Resolved that no further action was required after consideration of Mr G’s referral.

Private Hire Driver's Licence Disciplinary Referral - Mr G

Minutes:

Before consideration of the referral the Committee was informed that Mr G had contacted the Authority to inform, he was unable to attend due to a medical issue.

 

The Committee sought advice and gave consideration to continue with the meeting. It concluded that the meeting be deffered until an appropriate time when Mr G had overcome his medical issue.

 

Resolved that consideration of Mr G’s referral be deferred.
