The Committee will be requested to pass the following resolution:

Resolved that under Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended) and having applied a public interest test as defined in Part 2 of Schedule 12A of the Act, the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the following item of business on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraph 1 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A to the Act.

Resolved that the exclusion resolution be passed.

The Committee received a report which outlined the background to an appeal by Mr F against the decision of the Authority to refuse his application for a Combined Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Driver’s licence on the grounds that the Licensing Authority was not satisfied he was a fit and proper person to hold a licence.

Mr F attended the meeting.

The meeting was adjourned to seek clarification on information brought along to the meeting by Mr Ford.

Resolved that consideration on Mr F’s appeal be deferred.
